Shipping v3.4: food safety records, the staff app, and the weekly value report

VenueCore Team · July 30, 2026 · 6 min

v3.4 pushed VenueCore past the till and into the parts of the operation that usually live in a folder behind the bar.

Food safety, phase one. Digital fridge and probe temperature logs, cleaning and hygiene sign-offs, and a corrective-action trail with timestamps and the name of whoever signed. Records are retained and exportable, so an inspection is a download rather than a search.

The staff app. A mobile-first surface for the team: rotas and shift confirmations, a training academy with short modules and quizzes, and the hygiene sign-offs they need to complete before service. Staff use their phone; managers see completion in the back office.

The weekly value report. Every week the platform writes up what happened — covers, prime cost, labour, voids, guest sentiment — and puts a plain-English coaching note on top of it. It answers the question owners actually ask: what did this week cost me, and what should I change.

Under the hood: VAT handling was rebuilt to UK requirements, cash drawer reconciliation folded into the end-of-night flow, and kitchen display operations moved to server-side transactions so tickets stay consistent under real peak load.

None of this is bolted on. It shares the same guest, staff, and menu records as the till, which is the only reason the weekly report can be trusted.
